Frequently Asked Questions
You will find answers to all of your most common Electrical Services related questions located here.
Do I need to remove the plug from the socket to be able to reset my safety switch?
Yes. Physically remove the plugs from all sockets to reset your safety switch after it trips. Call us if you cannot reset the circuit.
What is the difference between a safety switch and a circuit breaker / fuse?
Safety switches sense when there is an unsafe issue in the circuit. This could be a faulty appliance or faulty wiring. Circuit breakers and fuses protect your wiring only and may not trip fast enough to stop a serious electric shock.
Can I replace my own power points and light switches?
No. All electrical work must be carried out by a licensed electrician. Get one of experienced electricians to take care of all your electrical needs. Stay safe and compliant.
How often should I check my safety switches?
Safety switches should be manually tested by pressing the integrated test push button every 6 months. They should be tested by a licensed electrician every 12 months. Contact us to book your safety switch test.
How many smoke detectors do I need in my house / rental property?
Queensland smoke detection laws are complex. Get in touch with us and we can talk you through the options for you to feel safe and compliant in any situation.
I have felt a tingling sensation when I touch the water taps in my house. Is this serious?
